Sherwood Forest, famed for the legendary Robin Hood, used to extend much further than it does today, but there are some interesting places to visit in what remains of the forest, particularly centred on Clumber Park. You will find the Major Oak at Edwinstowe where Robin is said to have hidden from the Sheriff of Nottingham.
