CAR TRIPS FROM SHEFFIELD We will be adding to this section over time and please feel free to send us your recommended "day's out by car from Sheffield" suggestions. WOODHEAD & SNAKE PASS A trip over the Pennines can be turned into a picturesque journey using the two main routes leading westwards. Here's the route - A6102 through Oughtibridge and Stocksbrige A628 Woodehead Pass to Hadfield A57 Snake Pass passing Ladybower Dam Return to Sheffield on the A57 or cut off down Rivelin Valley on the A6101. LADYBOWER & HATHERSAGE Head out from Hillsborough up Rivelin Valley Road (A6101) joining the A57 (or begin on the A57 in Sheffield) When Ladybower Dam comes into view, keep on past the A6103 and take the next right for a picturesque trip up the Derwent Dale valley Double back to the A57 and turn back to take the A6103 (the road that you passed on the way out) along a bank of the Ladybower Turn left at the A625 towards Hathersage Follow the A625 back to Sheffield Add your link here (if relevant & local) |
